Our third annual Crew4Life in-person get together this month was great!

11 Crew4Life members travelled from all over the state to The Community Hub in Docklands. Brilliant to see everybody IRL and chat about mental health and wellbeing for rural and regional young people and their communities — what's important, what's needed, what does everyone need to know, what do young people want and need.

Fantastic to welcome Liam from Youth Engagement Project with a highly energetic Public Speaking Workshop. It was loads of fun and hugely valuable to continue developing skills as Live4Life's youth mental health ambassadors. Massive thanks to Liam and YEP.

Members also spent time developing 2026 Crew4Life theme, 'A resilient mind can take some time', sharing a message that acknowledges and elevates not only other young people but also their communities, and all who need a reminder that everyone is in this together. Keep an eye out for the launch of the 2026 poster over the coming months!

And thanks to sushi@school https://sushi.net.au/ for the delicious lunch...Crew4Life's dreams of unlimited sushi came true!

Huge shout out to these dedicated, passionate and kind volunteers sharing their time and ideas. Crew4Life, you are just awesome!

❤️💛🖤 Celebrating NAIDOC Week 2026! 50 years of Deadly!

For five decades, NAIDOC Week has celebrated the voices of First Nations communities — steady, unapologetic, and proud. Each year, its themes have called for truth, celebrated culture, honoured resistance, and reminded the nation of who the people who built this movement are — the Elders who stood firm, the organisers who made space, the artists who turned resistance into expression, and the communities who keep showing up, year after year.

Live4Life acknowledges and pays respect to the Traditional Custodians of country all over Australia. We acknowledge and respect the fact that many Traditional Custodians maintain their sovereignty, which has never been ceded. We stand in solidarity with Indigenous people in their continuing struggles for justice. Live4Life accepts the invitation contained in the Uluru Statement from the Heart to walk together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in a movement of the Australian people for a better future.

Our July ✌𝓚𝓲𝓬𝓴 𝓑𝓪𝓬𝓴 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝓒𝓻𝓮𝔀4𝓛𝓲𝓯𝓮✌was hosted by Mina (and yes, he owns more than 13 Garfields)! 😮🤩

Crew4Life had a great discussion about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and what it means to them. They reviewed and provided important feedback on Live4Life's newly created draft DEI statement, which we will be releasing very soon.

We also finalised planning for the Annual Crew4Life in person event held this weekend — so stay tuned for more on that!

Community partnerships are core to the Live4Life model.

Live4Life is proud to be working together with our partners in the Macedon Ranges to support young people and youth mental health. We are looking forward to a forum next month with stakeholders to discuss future opportunities in supporting this community.

And we were delighted to be able to provide much needed resources for Teen Mental Health First Aid training in Macedon Ranges, which gives young people the skills and knowledge to recognise a mental health issue, ask for help, or offer assistance to a friend who may be struggling. These essential manuals have been proudly supported by Macedon Ranges Community Enterprises and Community Bank Gisborne & District . Their commitment to reinvesting local banking profits back into our community helps vital partnership work like this continue to grow and make a difference in young people's lives.

Did you know Live4Life Southern Grampians regularly offers Youth Mental Health First Aid training to adults in our community?

This nationally recognised course provides practical skills to recognise when a young person may be experiencing a mental health problem, respond with confidence, and connect them with appropriate support.

A big congratulations to the 12 local community members who recently completed the training. Together, we're building a community where young people feel supported and know where to turn when they need help.

We're always looking to build a more mentally healthy community. If you'd like to attend a future Youth Mental Health First Aid course, or know someone who would, please don't hesitate to get in touch, we'd love to hear from you.

What is Live4Life Southern Grampians? 💛🩵🧡💜

Live4Life is a community-led youth mental health initiative working with local schools and organisations to improve mental health awareness, reduce stigma and encourage young people to reach out for support when they need it.

A huge part of Live4Life is our Crew, young people who help lead conversations, share ideas and promote positive mental health within their schools and community.

So far this year we have:
💛 Welcomed our 2026 Live4Life Southern Grampians Crew
🩵 Held our Crew Launch with local Year 8 students
🧡 Attended the annual Live4Life Dinner
💜 Supported the Understanding Youth event with guest speaker Andrew Fuller
💛 Delivered Teen Mental Health First Aid in local schools
🩵 Crew created their mental health promotion poster and theme - "Reach for the light, your future is bright"
🧡 Heard incredible ideas and feedback from young people
💜 Worked alongside schools and community partners

We’re excited to continue supporting youth voice, connection and conversations around mental health across Southern Grampians.
