There's a moment, early in every session, where I stop talking and start listening. Not just to what you tell me, but to what your body is already saying.
Rosie came in with concerns she'd carried for a while. What she noticed wasn't a technique performed on her, but a conversation, my hands answering what her body kept revealing as we went.
Perhaps that's the part we miss when we talk about massage. We imagine a fixed routine, a set of pressures in order. But a body isn't a sequence to work through. It softens in one place and asks for something different in the next.
So I follow it. I adapt, and adapt again, because the shoulder that needs holding today may not be the one that needed it yesterday.
Rosie left feeling like a new person. I think what she really means is that she felt met.
And perhaps that's the whole invitation. To lay down, be heard, and let your body lead for once.
