⚡ A little Wynnum makeover ⚡

We finally gave our Wynnum clinic a proper refresh, and top of the priority list was hiding the “Watch the corner” electrical cupboard and saying goodbye to those classic 1980 corporate office carpet tiles 🫠

The whole space got a fresh repaint and we added some beautiful curves to match our Bulimba clinic aesthetic.

We couldn’t get rid of the electrical box, so naturally we hid it behind a curved wall and turned it into a secret Harry Potter cupboard ⚡️

It is now a cozy sensory nook with a giant bean bag and HP merch for some of our little visitors to take a break in.

A big THANK YOU as always to the incredible Future Interior Linings for making the impossible possible and getting all of this done while we were away for 9 days! 🤯 what a team! 👏

Meet Stacey! 👋

If you visit our Wynnum or Bulimba clinic, there's a good chance you'll see Stacey!

Stacey is one of our audiologists, and she's the kind of person who makes you feel at ease the moment you sit down. She genuinely loves chatting to people of all ages, and having fun with kids is one of her favourite parts of the job.

When she's not helping people hear better, you'll find her playing cello or piano, jamming out to Celtic fiddle music, or out on her bike. Her happy place is next to the water, she loves a good matcha latte, and if the clinic's quiet, you might even catch her whistling down the hallway.

We're so lucky to have her on the team. Pop in and say hi! 💛

Meet some of the Bulimba crew! 👋

If you pop into our Bulimba clinic, you might be greeted by one of these lovely faces.

Ben - audiologist, co-founder, and the reason this whole thing exists (also my husband, so I may be biased 😄). He’s passionate about helping people hear better and he’ll make you feel right at home from the moment you sit down.

Anoushka - our amazing receptionist who’ll be the first voice you hear when you call or walk through the door. She’s been part of our team for over a year now and we honestly can’t imagine the place without her! She’s also a second year audiology student at UQ, so she’s not just answering phones, she’s building a career in hearing health. Fun fact: she plays keyboard, guitar AND ukulele, and if you bring her tiramisu you’ll be her favourite person forever 🍰

We’re so proud of our little Bulimba team and we can’t wait for more of the community to get to know them.

Last week, The Little Hearing Co was proud to sponsor the Ladies Honour Board event at Wynnum Golf Club

Ben had the opportunity to speak with the team about hearing health, hearing loss, and the importance of early intervention — while also sharing a little about the services we provide to support our local community.

Thank you to the Women’s Committee for having us and for hosting such a wonderful event. We loved being part of it! 💚

It’s Small Business Month 💛 And we’re really proud of our small business!!

If we had to sum up the biggest benefit of being a small business, it would be flexibility.

We have three clinics in Wynnum, Bulimba and Keperra, three wonderful audiologists, and five amazing reception staff.

And every day, that flexibility shows up in real ways:
~ Need a hearing test but work full time? Keperra is open Saturdays.
~ Sensory child who can’t tolerate headphones? We’ll work around it.
~ Urgent hearing check before an ENT appointment in 15 minutes? eeerr, come on in and we’ll try our best to make it happen.
~ On holidays and your hearing aid has just broken? We’ve got you boo!

It also shows up in our team. Most of our reception staff are uni students on placement who need flexibility, we regularly have UQ students gaining clinical experience with us, and our team is supported through all stages of life — including a lovely local mum who could bring her baby into work with her 🥰

We’re not part of a big corporate group, we have no head office targets. No appointment quotas. Just the ability to slow things down when needed and make clinical decisions based on what’s best for the patient.

🎧 Today is World Hearing Day – March 3rd 🎧

World Hearing Day is led by the World Health Organization, and this year their focus is on children’s hearing and early support — recognising how vital hearing is for learning, confidence and connection.

As a parent, I know how much we worry about our kids — their speech, their learning, their friendships, their happiness. Hearing plays such a big part in all of that, and sometimes it’s something we don’t even think about until there’s a concern, often first noticed by our kids' wonderful teachers.

At The Little Hearing Co, we have the specialist equipment and training to provide a comprehensive diagnostic hearing assessment for children, even from a very young age. We’re proud to work alongside local GPs & ENTs, speech pathologists, early education centres and other local health professionals to support children’s hearing, learning and confidence in our community.

Today, we’re sharing some wonderful resources from the WHO, including posters with practical tips for:
📚 Teachers supporting children with hearing loss in the classroom;
🤝 Friends learning how to support a classmate with hearing loss; and
🏡 Parents knowing what signs to look out for and when to seek help.

These resources are all about building understanding, inclusion and confidence — so every child feels supported at school and at home.

Early hearing checks, and intervention if needed, can make a huge difference to your child’s future — giving families peace of mind and helping little ones get the best possible start.

We had an amazing time at our Christmas party!

Three years ago, it was an intimate gathering of two, and look how we've grown! Last year we were six, and this year we celebrated with 11!

We're so thankful for our team's hard work this year. It's been a year of growth, learning, and lots of effort.
