As we reach the end of the first week of Pride Month, we reflect on the importance of honoring the strength, resilience, and diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community. We know that mental health and well-being are closely linked to acceptance, visibility, and support, not just during Pride, but every day of the year.

Being an ally is an ongoing commitment. Show support year-round for our LGBTQIA+ community by:

🏳️‍🌈Listening to and learning from LGBTQIA+ voices and experiences

🏳️‍🌈Using inclusive language and respect everyone’s pronouns or name preferences

🏳️‍🌈Speak up against discrimination and bias

🏳️‍🌈Support LGBTQIA+ events, organisations, and safe spaces

🏳️‍🌈Check in on LGBTQIA+ friends, family, and colleagues

Fostering an environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and heard can make all the difference. Together, we can help build a world where all people can thrive as their authentic selves.

Happy Pride from all of us at NeuroKind! 🏳️‍🌈

Did you know we offer Telehealth at Neurokind? 💻✨

Therapy shouldn't drain your battery before you even arrive. For many neurodivergent folk, the transition tax—the energy spent on traffic, parking, and waiting rooms—can really add up.

Telehealth lets you skip the tax and stay in control of your space:

✨ Sensory comfort: Dim the lights, wear your favorite hoodie, or use a weighted blanket.

✨ Consistency through convenience: Telehealth removes the friction of getting there, so you can fit your growth into a lunch break or a quiet hour at home.

✨ Proven results: Research shows virtual sessions are just as effective as in-person therapy.

Make therapy fit your life, not the other way around. We have current availability with a range of clinicians!

At NeuroKind, we believe assessments should be about much more than just a diagnosis, they are a tool for discovery and belonging.

A neurodevelopmental assessment can help to:

Deepen Self-Understanding: Move from self-blame to self-compassion by recognising how your brain is uniquely wired.

Find Your Strengths: We move beyond a deficit focus to highlight your cognitive style and how you navigate the world.

Build Community: Understanding your neurotype helps you find "your people", turning isolation into a powerful sense of shared identity.

Access Supports: Assessments provide the clinical evidence needed for workplace accommodations, educational provisions, and essential services.

You don't need to be fixed. Our goal is to help you connect with your authentic self and create a life that fits your brain.

Assessments can feel like a big milestone, but you don't have to navigate it alone. We’re here to support you through every step of the process.

To all the mums out there—biological, adoptive, foster, chosen, step, and everything in between—we see you. An extra special shoutout to our neurodivergent mums—whether you’re figuring out your own identity or guiding your own neurodivergent tribe.

Mother’s Day can be all sorts of things: joyful, weird, complicated, or just another day on the calendar. However it lands for you, your experience is valid. There’s no one right way to be a mum, and no single story that covers it all.

Big love to every mum: those here, those we remember, those forging their own path, those supporting from a distance, and those waiting for it to be their turn.

If today feels heavy, or if you need a little extra support, you’re not alone:

🐉 Missing: One Very Social Dragon! 🐉

We’ve had an unexpected (but very enthusiastic) guest hanging out with us at NeuroKind over the school holidays…and honestly, he’s made himself very comfortable.

In the past couple of weeks, our dragon friend has:

✨ Joined in cooking group (excellent taste, big fan of snacks)
🎉 Fully committed to themed day dress-ups
🥤 Sampled a wide range of slushy flavours — for research purposes, of course
🤝 Practised some impressive conflict resolution skills in sibling sessions
😌 And generally embraced the therapeutic lifestyle like a pro

While we’ve loved having him here (and he’s been an absolute delight), he’s starting to miss his human and has let us know he’s ready to head home.

If this well-adjusted, slightly mischievous dragon belongs to you, please get in touch with the clinic to arrange his return. He promises to bring back all the skills he’s learned… plus maybe a new favourite slushy flavour recommendation 💚

Sometimes our bodies react to the world before our brains even realise what’s happening. That’s not a glitch—it’s Polyvagal Theory in action! 🧠💥

Swipe through to discover:
💚 The Safe & Social zone (where the magic happens!)
🧡 The Fight & Flight zone (aka security system)
💙 The Shutdown zone (when your system needs to unplug)

Feelings are just feedback! Once you know which zone you’re in, you can choose the right tool—like sensory safety or a bit of gentle movement—to help your body feel safe again💖

Which zone are you feeling today?

When the to-do list feels like too much, try a "to-feel" menu 🧠✨

Having too many options can make us feel stuck, and choosing how to rest can feel like just another chore. This is decision fatigue, and for neurodivergent folks, it can keep us stuck in a scroll-hole"or a state of freeze for hours.

The Feel-Good Menu is about lowering the entry cost of regulation. By breaking activities down into bite-sized 'entrées' or more substantial 'mains', you can pick something that matches your current capacity—not your expectations.

Now it's your turn: What works for your brain is unique to you. Try drafting your own menu today so it's ready for those low-spoon moments. If you're finding it hard to identify what actually helps you feel regulated versus what just feels like a distraction, bring this menu to your next session or reach out to speak with one of our clinicians. We can help you map out the tools that best support your nervous system.

We’re thrilled to celebrate a special milestone with our Provisional Psychology Team! Last week, Jasper, Tamara, and Christopher graduated from the Master of Professional Psychology 🎓 and are now stepping into their internships at NeuroKind.

This achievement reflects many years of hard work, dedication, and growth—both professionally and personally. We feel so lucky to have such passionate and caring clinicians as part of our team, and can’t wait to see all the wonderful things they’ll accomplish as they start this next chapter.

Congratulations, Jasper, Tamara, and Christopher! We’re so proud of you and excited for what’s ahead 🤍
