Our Mums & Bubs Group is a caring space to connect, grow and learn together, with:

• Early childhood development tips and resources
• Peer support and connection
• Shared stories, yarns and experiences
• Support for you and your bub’s journey

One conversation could mean more than you’ll ever know.

Today at Terrigal Haven, our community came together to walk, yarn, laugh and connect for Su***de Prevention Month.

Because sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply show up for each other.

Ask, “How you going?”
Make time for the yarn.
Listen without judgement.
And remind someone they don’t have to carry everything alone.

As our community shared today, getting outside, connecting with Mob and having those real conversations can make a difference.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, walked alongside us, shared a yarn and helped create a space for connection and support. 💜

And this is only the beginning.

On Wednesday, our Child and Family team had the pleasure of hosting an Indigenous Literacy Day event at our gugandi playground here at Mardi.

Indigenous Literacy Day is all about celebrating storytelling and improving literacy outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and it was a joy to bring that spirit to Darkinung community.

Our gudjagang gathered for storytime with First Nations books soaking up stories and learning together in the sunshine. It was a beautiful reminder of how powerful storytelling is for connection, culture, and early learning.

A big thank you to everyone who came along, and to our Child & Family team for taking part in such a meaningful event.

We're already looking forward to the next one and hope to see you there!

Sometimes the person who understands most is someone who’s been there too.

Meet Jeremy Beale, a caseworker in our PSP Ngaliya Out of Home Care team.

Growing up, Jeremy experienced some of the same challenges faced by the young people he supports today. He moved from house to house before finding carers who gave him the support he needed.

Now, he gets to be that support for someone else.

His lived experience gives him a unique understanding of what young people may be going through and the importance of having someone there who genuinely gets it.

For Jeremy, asking for help can be one of the hardest steps. But it can also be the step that changes everything.

“Open up, ask for help, and from there the sky’s the limit.”

Today we're celebrating a very special milestone: 10 years of Breannon Field with Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Services.

A decade ago, Bree joined the EDAS team — and in the years since, she has become so much more than a colleague. She is steady, she is strong, and she is exactly the kind of person you want beside you when the work gets hard. Time and again, Bree shows up with the same quiet dedication and fierce care, making sure our mob on Darkinung Country are supported, safe and happy.

To mark this milestone, we created a storybook, written and illustrated especially in Bree's honour, telling her journey with EDAS: the people she's walked alongside, the challenges she's carried with grace, and the heart she has poured into this work for ten years running. It felt like the only fitting way to say thank you for something this big.

Bree, your commitment to community doesn't go unnoticed, and it never has. Thank you for a decade of turning up, standing strong, and holding space for our people. Here's to many more chapters still to come.
