Measles spreads fast. Make sure you’re protected.

Measles cases continue to be reported in Victoria and NSW, the Ovens Murray Public Health Unit is reminding our community to check their vaccination status.

Two doses of the measles vaccine provide the best protection. If you’re unsure whether you’ve had both doses, check your immunisation record or speak with your GP or pharmacist. It’s safe to receive an extra dose if you’re unsure.

Measles can start with fever, cough, runny nose and red or sore eyes, followed by a red, blotchy rash.

If you develop symptoms, call your doctor or health service before you arrive and wear a mask to help protect others.

New pneumococcal vaccinations available now!

We have received stock of the new pneumococcal vaccine added to the NIP this year.

Free vaccination is available for those who have not had an NIP pneumococcal vaccination in the last 12 months, and are:
• 65 and over
• 25 or over with certain medical conditions
• 25 or over Aboriginal and Torres Strait islanders

Walk in vaccination and bookings available.

10 years ago today, I put the “Open” sign out for the first time on High Street! It seems like such a short time ago!

I just want to thank you all for welcoming my family into this incredible community. The support you’ve shown over the years has been overwhelming, and I’m grateful every day for the wonderful people I get to work with (past and present), care for, and call friends. Truely the best!

None of this would have even been possible without the ongoing love and support of my family. Behind the scenes (Thanks Ben x) & on the floor (sorry Mum & Dad!) I couldn’t have done any of it without you xx
