🌍✨ Let’s Celebrate Play Together! πŸŽ‰

Mark your calendars for June 11, 2026! It’s the International Day of Play, and we’re excited to highlight how play is essential for everyone, especially our little ones. πŸ’–

Play knows no borders! It brings us together, builds resilience, sparks creativity, and develops important life skills. When children can play freely, they grow up healthier and happier. 🌈

This year’s theme is β€œProtect Play, Protect Childhood!” We’re encouraging everyone, governments, businesses, schools, and families, to make play a priority for children. πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ’•

At Strong Minds Psychology, we utilise a range of play-based activities and resources to support healthy outcomes for our clients. If you or someone you know would like support, check out our website for more info!

Reach us at 0359671438 or shoot us an email at [email protected]. We’re here to help! πŸ’ͺ😊

🌻 The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a globally recognised symbol for non-visible disabilities, also known as hidden disabilities or invisible disabilities. 🌻

Just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it is not there

Globally, 1 in 6 of us live with a disability. That is approximately 1.3 billion people.

But while some of us experience a disability that is visible, many have a non-visible condition or experience a combination of both visible and non-visible conditions. These disabilities can be temporary, situational or permanent.

They can be neurological, cognitive and neurodevelopmental as well as physical, visual, auditory and include sensory and processing difficulties. They can also be respiratory as well as chronic health conditions, such as arthritis and diabetes, chronic pain and sleep disorders.

At Strong Minds Psychology, we implement a range of tools and modalities to support healthy outcomes for our clients.

If you or someone you know requires our services, you can head to our website to find out more.

Pride Month is not new - it is not "woke" πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

We need to stand strong with the LGBTQIA+ community to promote awareness and safety. β€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œ

You can help by joining in at events, using inclusive and gender-neutral language, being curious, and not making assumptions. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

As Allied Health Professionals, we provide safe spaces, listen, and provide an open environment for people to share and live their truth πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Pride is everyday β€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œ

πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ May 17 - IDAHOBIT - International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia & Transphobia πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ
IDAHOBIT celebrates LGBTQIA+ people globally.

Through our community, we have a shared responsibility to ensure that everyone feels safe, included and welcome. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Some ways you can do this are to dress in rainbow colours, attend an IDAHOBIT event, and speak up if you hear someone engaging in unsafe or discriminatory comments towards others. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

At Strong Minds, we will be wearing a rainbow to show our support on IDAHOBIT, and every day, we have our doors wide open to provide a safe environment for all. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Occupational therapists specialising in mental health help individuals engage in meaningful everyday activities. They use occupational therapy tools and psychological techniques.

They work with:
- Adults with mental illness health, including anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, and eating disorders.
- Children and young people facing emotional regulation challenges related to mental health (e.g. anxiety, depression, PTSD), or neurodiversity (e.g. autism, ADHD, intellectual disability).
- Older adults experiencing mental ill health, declines in neurological functioning, or managing challenges with life transitions or grief.

Strong Minds Psychology provides occupational therapy and psychological assessment, counselling, intervention, and positive behaviour support services to the Yarra Valley and Outer East suburbs of Melbourne, as well as West Gippsland and surrounds.

Our clinics can be found within the communities of Yarra Junction and Warragul, and we also provide mobile visits in schools, homes, kindergartens, and aged care facilities within our broader catchment areas.

We have availability now for OT services.
