Over the past few weeks, many of you have experienced cancelled or rescheduled appointments, as well as longer-than-usual wait times to see a doctor, and we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge this and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.
Unfortunately, we have had several of our GPs unexpectedly become unwell or require unplanned leave. As a small rural practice, these situations can have a significant impact on appointment availability, despite our best efforts to minimise disruption.
We would like to sincerely thank our wonderful team of doctors who have gone above and beyond by working additional hours, taking on extra patients, and doing everything they can to ensure our community continues to receive the care it needs. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication and commitment.
We also want to thank our reception team, who have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to rearrange appointments, manage a high volume of phone calls, and support patients during this challenging period.
Most importantly, thank you to our patients for your patience, understanding and kindness. We know having an appointment changed can be frustrating, and we truly appreciate the support you've shown our team.
We're pleased to share some good news. From next week, we are delighted to welcome Dr Chamath Fernando and Dr Yomna Elsamman to Yarragon Medical Centre. Their arrival will significantly increase appointment availability and help reduce waiting times for our patients.
Appointments with both doctors are now available to book. If you've been waiting to see a GP or need to make an appointment, please give our friendly reception team a call on 5637 0222 or book online.
Thank you again for your continued support. We look forward to continuing to care for you and your family.
