Chiropractic Care for Children ✨

5 ways gentle SOT chiropractic care may support children.

1. Nervous system regulation
The spine and nervous system are deeply connected. Gentle chiropractic care may help children feel more settled, balanced and adaptable.

2. Posture and growing spines
School bags, devices, desks, sport and growth spurts can all affect spinal alignment and movement. Regular care helps keep an eye on how their bodies are adapting.

3. Body awareness and coordination
Chiropractic care may support proprioception, the brain’s awareness of where the body is in space, which is important for coordination, balance and movement confidence.

4. Cranial, jaw and breathing support
SOT chiropractic can include gentle cranial, pelvic and spinal techniques that may support comfort through the head, neck, jaw, ribs and breathing mechanics.

5. Mood, focus and resilience
When children are more comfortable in their bodies and better regulated, many parents notice improvements in ease, energy, sleep, focus and emotional resilience.

Please get in touch today to make a booking or find out more information on how we might be able to support your family.

One-Pot Lemon Herb Chicken and Vegetable Soup ✨

This is the kind of soup that feels like a warm hug, rich in protein, full of fibre-rich vegetables, gentle and satisfying, and perfect for winter comfort. It is light enough to feel fresh, hearty enough to feel like a meal, and easy enough to make in one pot.

Ingredients:
Protein base
500 to 700 g chicken thighs or chicken breast, diced or left whole and shredded later
1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
1.5 to 2 litres chicken bone broth or good-quality chicken stock
Low-carb vegetables
2 celery stalks, sliced
1 zucchini, diced
1 cup cauliflower florets or cauliflower rice
1 cup green beans, chopped
1 leek, finely sliced, optional
1 to 2 cups baby spinach or silverbeet
½ cup mushrooms, optional
Flavour and winter comfort
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon dried thyme or mixed Italian herbs
Juice of ½ to 1 lemon
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley to serve

Optional creamy version
¼ cup coconut cream or a spoonful of Greek yoghurt stirred through at the end
Extra collagen powder stirred in once slightly cooled, optional (We sell Designs for Health Whole Body Collagen $65.95)

Method:
Warm the olive oil or butter in a large pot. Add the leek, celery, ginger, turmeric and herbs, and gently sauté for a few minutes until fragrant.
Add the chicken and stock, then bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for around 20 to 25 minutes, or until the chicken is tender. If using whole chicken pieces, remove them, shred with two forks and return to the pot.
Add cauliflower, zucchini, green beans and mushrooms. Simmer for another 8 to 10 minutes until the vegetables are soft but still bright.
Stir through spinach or silverbeet at the end, then finish with lemon juice, parsley, salt and pepper.
For a creamier soup, add coconut cream or Greek yoghurt just before serving. Do not boil once the yoghurt is added.

Enjoy ✨

If you’ve been considering Chiropractic Care and are interested to know more about how it might support you as an adult, keep reading ⬇️

Regular care may support:

🔹Stress and adrenal load support
Busy parents often live in high-alert mode. Gentle care may support nervous system down-regulation and help the body move toward a calmer recovery state.

🔹Better spinal mobility and less winter stiffness
Cold weather can make muscles and joints feel tighter. Regular spinal care helps maintain movement, comfort and ease.

🔹Mood and cognitive clarity
When the body is under less mechanical and nervous system stress, people often feel clearer, calmer and more present.

🔹Breathing, ribs and diaphragm function
SOT chiropractic often considers the pelvis, spine, ribs, cranial system and diaphragm together,  supporting better breathing mechanics and whole-body regulation.

🔹A regular reset, not just a rescue visit
The best time to care for your spine is not only when something hurts. Regular care helps maintain alignment, adaptability and wellbeing before stress builds up.
So this winter, think of your chiropractic visit as a family wellbeing tune-up,  for little spines, growing brains, tired parents and everyone in between.

Book your winter spinal check with Dr Andrea, Dr Leah or Dr Trudi today and keep your family feeling healthy, aligned and ready for the rest of the season.

Winter tune-ups for little spines, busy brains and beautifully tired parents ✨

Winter has a funny way of turning families into a mix of sniffles, school bag niggles, screen posture, chilly shoulders, disrupted sleep and “why is everyone so tired?” energy.
It is also one of the best times of year to keep regular chiropractic care in your family rhythm.
Gentle SOT chiropractic care supports the body’s structure, nervous system and capacity to adapt. When the spine, pelvis, cranial system, ribs and diaphragm move well, the nervous system often has more room to regulate, which can support posture, comfort, mood, sleep quality, body awareness, focus and general wellbeing.

For babies and children, regular spinal checks can be a beautiful way to support growing bodies through all the bumps, tumbles, sport, growth spurts, school stress and winter fatigue.

For parents, it is a much-needed reset for the nervous system, helping shift the body out of “go, go, go” mode and back toward rest, digest, recover and repair.

Dr Trudi, Dr Andrea and Dr Leah are doing a wonderful job keeping our practice members healthy, aligned and winter-ready here at Flourish and they would love to see you and your family here soon ✨
