Ever wondered why lights can trigger migraines?

Certain wavelengths of light can overstimulate retinal ganglion cells leading to activation of the trigeminal nerve - which drives migraine pain.

For the majority of migraine sufferers who are sensitive to lights from LEDs, screens and fluorescents with harsh white light, a warm amber FL-41 tint is the most useful for reducing the onset and severity of symptoms.

A smaller subgroup of migraine sufferers are triggered by more red-toned lights and by flickering lights (for example, from fluorescents and some LEDs), and will benefit from a blue tint.
