We’re excited to welcome Ruby to the Territory Women’s Clinic team at the end of this month!

Ruby is an experienced physiotherapist with over seven years of clinical practice across hospital, community, private practice and remote healthcare settings. She brings a wealth of expertise in rehabilitation, Pilates and complex case management, and is currently completing her APA Women’s and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy training.

Passionate about helping women move well and feel their best, Ruby combines evidence-based care with a warm, compassionate approach. She is looking forward to supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum and pelvic floor concerns as she continues to grow within our specialist team.

Ruby also has a special interest in somatic nervous system regulation practices, connecting your mind and body, which we are looking at combining with physiotherapy principles to bring a new and exciting offer/ workshop 👀

Look out for some really good women’s health new patient offers for Aug/ Sept, fully supervised by senior Pelvic Health Physio, as Ruby finds her feet and up-skills in the area of Pelvic Health.

We can’t wait for you to meet Ruby, we just know she’s going to be great 😃 ⭐️ 🧘‍♀️

Yesterday morning we ran a PD session for all the pelvic health Physio’s in Darwin on Caesarean scar manual techniques.

We don’t get many CPD opportunities/ courses in Darwin, especially in the pelvic health space, meaning we often have to travel interstate to attend. We could see a need to support one another and we’re making it happen! Even those who couldn’t attend this weekend have been so keen to learn and collaborate between private and public health. I truely think this is such a unique community perk of Darwin and as a new small business something I am so so grateful for!

Thanks to Ash Ashlee Dodd, Joce from RDH, Kylie Tangible Health, Mikaila Territory Sportsmedicine & Laura Laura Justin | Women’s Health Physiotherapist | Darwin for coming and trusting me (Bronte) to run the first of hopefully many more CPD sessions.

Ps. If you’re a pelvic health physio in Darwin and want to keep up to date with meet ups/ CPD etc send me a DM 😁

Actually, I think this is the point. Participation in LIFE ☀️

It might seem that physio, in particular pelvic health physio, is for those wanting to run, or get back to the gym, or complete a Hyrox. But really, the overall goal is much more simple than that, we help you get back to enjoying life.

Whether you have pelvic pain, prolapse, incontinence, bowel concerns or a sensitive bladder, we help you manage these issues, regain confidence in your body and assist you to participate in whatever your goals are.

We only have one body and one life, let’s live it 🫶

Oestrogen, such an important hormone for our continence mechanism. It keeps v***a tissues and mucosa hydrated, vascularised and functioning well.

Perimenopause, menopause, postmenopause and breastfeeding mums often have low oestrogen levels and new onset of incontinence.

Whilst physios can’t change hormones, we can help with muscle function, blood flow issues, strength and endurance issues and coordination, sometimes alongside hormone replacement therapy.

This isn’t to throw shade at those who choose to participate because they’re feeling ready to, its for those who are comparing themselves to others already back at the gym, already on an outing, already seemingly doing it all…

Postpartum isn’t a competition, it isn’t a race. There’s a LOT of noise around when you “should” be doing things. I’m here to tell you, good on you for listening to your body, blocking out the noise and taking things at your own pace.
