DECAF or CAFFEINATED?
Decaf coffee is great, especially for those who are overly sensitive to caffeine as it has most of the benefits of caffeinated coffee.
However, removing caffeine means you miss out on the stimulant, dopamine bump, and metabolism kick. There's also long-term brain health benefits from drinking around 2 to 3 cups a day of caffeinated coffee that decaf cannot match.
Another benefit of decaf that you can drink more of it without getting the jitters. Though you don't get extra health benefits beyond 3 to 5 cups of decaf per day.
Bottom line based on what current research suggests - Keeping tolerance differences from one person to another in mind - around 3 cups or so a day of caffeinated, then decaf if you want more seems about right for most people.
