Happy National Wattle Day!

Today is the perfect day to celebrate another milestone at Arcadia Retirement Living, with the Wattle Residences now complete and ready to welcome residents.

In the Wattle Residences, future residents will enjoy:

Our Rooftop Terrace comes to life with our Tai-Chi sessions with Jono, set against stunning views and bright winter skies. It's a pretty special place to pause, breathe, and take in the scenery ☀️🌿📸

🎪 Ekka-Cadia 🎪

Forget the crowds, traffic, and questionable Ekka weather, we decided to bring a little bit of Ekka magic right here to Arcadia! 🎡

Our Ekka-Cadia was packed with all the good stuff - a puppy petting zoo, showbags, prizes, can toss, pluck-a-duck, and plenty of other games to bring out some serious competitive spirit!

No Ekka would be complete without the food! Chef Jared kept everyone fuelled with hot chips, Dagwood dogs, popcorn, and Ekka-famous strawberry sundaes 🍓🍦

We also put our staff to the test with a bake-off, with our residents taking on the very important job of judging the delicious entries. Let’s just say, no one needed much convincing to sample the goods!

The official opening of Arcadia Retirement Living gave us a chance to pause and celebrate a milestone that many people have been looking forward to.

As friends, family, residents and guests came together, there was a wonderful energy throughout the community. Conversations flowed easily, familiar faces stopped for a chat and new connections were being made around every corner.

What stood out most was seeing people enjoying the moment together. Sharing stories, meeting neighbours and taking in the atmosphere of a community that's beginning an exciting new chapter.

A friendly reminder about the upcoming Australia-wide test of the new AusAlert emergency warning system.

On Monday, 27 July, compatible mobile devices across Australia will receive a test emergency alert. This is a planned national test designed to help ensure the system works effectively when it is needed in a real emergency.

When the test alert is received, your mobile device may vibrate, play a loud siren-like tone and display a message clearly identifying the alert as a test. While the sound may be unexpected, there is no cause for concern.

The test alert is scheduled for:
2.00 pm (AEST) in Queensland and New South Wales
1.30 pm (ACST) in South Australia

You do not need to do anything when you receive this test alert.

AusAlert will become Australia's new emergency warning system and, in a real emergency, will be used to share important information about events such as bushfires, floods and other significant incidents.

If you have any questions or concerns about the test, please speak with the Village Office or visit https://www.ausalert.gov.au/alerts-explained/national-test for more information.
