🚨 This Women’s Health Month, we have massive news for the PCOS community.
As of May 2026, PCOS has officially been renamed PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome). 💡 This change follows a 14-year global consensus involving over 50 health organisations, researchers, and most importantly, patients.
So why the change?
The term "polycystic" was always a misnomer. Many women with this diagnosis do not have cysts at all. The symptoms that affect daily life the most—the fatigue, insulin resistance, weight changes, and mood fluctuations—are metabolic and hormonal in nature, not simply reproductive.
The new name, PMOS, reflects what so many patients have always known: this is a whole-body condition that deserves whole-body care. ❤️🩹
Women’s Health Month is all about promoting proactive wellness—from healthy eating and movement to mental health awareness and regular screenings. At BioConnect, treating the whole body is how we have always approached PMOS. 🩺
Whether you are newly diagnosed or have been managing this for years, our team is here to help you understand what is truly happening in your body and build a personalised lifestyle and medical plan around it.
