Dr. Partha Sarathi Barai (born October 3, 1990), better known as Dr. Partha S Barai, is a Bangladeshi ophthalmologist renowned for his expertise in advanced cataract surgery, phacoemulsification, and glaucoma surgeries. is early education at Mount Hermon School in Darjeeling, India, and pursued higher secondary education at Notre Dame College in Dhaka. His ambition to become a doctor was realized when he graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2017. He further specialized in ophthalmology, earning a Master’s degree (MS) in 2020. After completing his MS, Dr. Barai joined the National Institute of Ophthalmology and Hospital (NIO&H) in Sher-E-Bangla, Dhaka, where he honed his surgical skills. In 2024, he was invited to Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital Center of Excellence in Chennai, India, for a fellowship in Advanced Phacoemulsification Surgery. This fellowship enhanced his capabilities in managing complex cataract surgeries, as well as performing Yamane and Glued intraocular lens (IOL) fixation of posterior chamber intraocular lenses (PCIOL), alongside cosmetic and glaucoma surgeries. Dr. Barai currently practices at the Netraloy Eye Care Center in Thanthania, Bogura Sadar. He is known for his contributions to ophthalmic research, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. His ongoing research aims to advance ophthalmic techniques and improve patient care. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Barai is dedicated to social service. He regularly organizes and participates in medical camps in rural areas, providing free consultations and surgeries to underprivileged patients.
