Sciatica?
If your MRI says L4, L5 or L5, S1, you’re not alone. These are two of the most common levels associated with sciatica, nerve compression, leg pain, numbness, tingling, and weakness.

Many people focus on treating the pain without fully understanding what’s causing it. In this video, I explain how nerve compression at L4, L5 and L5, S1 can lead to symptoms that travel from your lower back into your buttock, down your leg, and even into your foot.

If you’ve been diagnosed with L4, L5 or L5, S1 compression, I’d like to hear your experience. Have you had physical therapy, spinal injections, a discectomy, laminectomy, spinal fusion, or another treatment? Your story may help someone else who is facing the same diagnosis, and others who have been through it may be able to share what helped them.

ACL Injury:
✅ Lachman Test
✅ Anterior Drawer Test
✅ Pivot Shift Test

✅ Neck mobility
✅ Nerve gliding
✅ Posture correction exercise

Ever wonder exactly how a back injury translates to that sharp ache or dull throb? 🧠⚡️
As shown in the image, pain isn't just local—it's a complex, lightning-fast communication system between your spine and your brain:
1️⃣ Pain Starts: Injury or irritation triggers local sensors (nociceptors).
2️⃣ Signal Sent: The message travels through a spinal nerve.
3️⃣ Up the Cord: It moves rapidly up the spinal cord.
4️⃣ Brain Processes: Your brain interprets the signal as pain.
5️⃣ Pain Felt: You experience the sensation right where the injury occurred.
Understanding how pain travels is the very first step toward treating it effectively. If you're dealing with spinal discomfort, physical therapy can help address the root cause and disrupt this pain cycle.

Try these gentle exercises (with proper guidance) to maintain spinal movement and strengthen supporting muscles.

✅ McKenzie Extension
✅ Pelvic Tilt
✅ Knee to Chest Stretch
✅ Cat-Cow Stretch

Remember: Every disc problem is different. A personalized physiotherapy assessment is the best way to choose the right treatment plan.
