Acanthosis nigricans is a common condition that leads to darkening of skin.Not only darkening, it gives a velvety feel to the skin. Majorly the skin feels such at the places where it folds and creases.The reasons considered behind the condition include: 👉Obesity
👉Hormonal changes
👉PCOD
👉Diabetes.

Always remember:
1) It cannot be treated without treating the root cause.
2)It cannot be cured by frequent rubbing rather it can make it worse.
3) It is something that can be treated.
4) Creams containing AHAs, Retinol and urea helps to lighten the hyperpigmentation but they are effective only when you work on the factors influencing it.
