TANVEER AHMED JOINS THE EDITORIAL TEAM OF IJWR
Dr. Tanveer Ahmed is a leading new-generation Bangladeshi Plastic, Aesthetic, Hand and Paediatric Plastic Surgeon. He trained at Dhaka Medical College Hospital under renowned surgeons Professor Shafquat Khundkar and Professor Abul Kalam. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Dhaka—recognized as the world’s largest independent 500-bed center in this field.
Dr. Tanveer holds key editorial roles, including Associate Editor of PRS Global Open (American Society of Plastic Surgeons), Joint Editor-in-Chief of BCPS Journal, Managing Editor of Journal of Surgical Sciences, Editor of BMRC Bulletin, and Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Wound Research.
He is the only plastic surgeon in Bangladesh to have trained and worked across Australia, the UK, USA, Thailand, Singapore, and Canada through prestigious international scholarships (2013–2016). His global exposure and mentorship under world leaders in plastic surgery shape his diverse, patient-centered approach. He prioritizes informed decision-making, offering comprehensive guidance to patients undergoing plastic, reconstructive, and hand surgery.
A graduate of Mymensingh Medical College (University of Dhaka, 2003), he completed postgraduate training in Bangladesh and worked at BSMMU, BIRDEM, and DMCH. He earned FCPS in Plastic Surgery (2013) and FACS (2017).
With 58 publications, 5 research projects, 50+ international presentations, and contributions including book chapters and a book, Dr. Tanveer is deeply engaged in research and academic medicine, helping patients restore function and achieve natural, aesthetic outcomes.
