đĸCircular for the Position of Intern Midwife
Purpose of the Internship Program:
Bangladesh Midwifery Society (BMS) is pleased to announce the recruitment of two Intern Midwives as part of its capacity development initiative.
The internship program is designed to provide registered midwives with practical learning opportunities through close collaboration with BMS Executive Committee members and staff.
Interns will gain hands-on experience in project implementation, organizational management, event coordination, and professional association activities. For 2026, BMS will recruit:
-One Intern Midwife to support the Collaboration for Women (C4W) Phase II Project
-One Intern Midwife to support the Strengthening Association Project
Through this internship, selected candidates will strengthen their professional competencies, leadership skills, and understanding of midwifery association management and project implementation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, training sessions, and other BMS events.
2. Provide administrative and documentation support, including preparing reports, taking meeting minutes, and maintaining records.
3. Coordinate and communicate with BMS staff, Executive Committee members, partners, and other stakeholders as required.
4. Support the implementation of project activities and organizational initiatives assigned by BMS.
Working Arrangement
1. The intern will work one day per week at the BMS Office.
2. The remaining working days will be conducted remotely.
3. Official office hours are Sunday to Thursday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Internship Allowance-
Each Intern Midwife will receive:
*BDT 14,000 per month as an internship allowance.
*BDT 1,000 per month for mobile and internet expenses.
Total monthly support: BDT 15,000 (all-inclusive).
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
1. Be a Registered Midwife (RM) with the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC).
2. Be an active member of the Bangladesh Midwifery Society (BMS).
3. Not be a member of the BMS Executive Committee or the Young Midwife Leaders (YML) Programme
4. Not be employed in any government position at the time of application
5. Be able to dedicate sufficient time to complete assigned responsibilities within deadlines.
6. Have good written, spoken, and typing skills in both Bangla and English.
7. Be proficient in using online meeting platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Skype.
8. Have a personal laptop, which is mandatory for both office-based and remote work.
