We are pleased to share that Prof. Dr. Fatema Ashraf, Chairman of SHRL, Prof. Dr. Sharmeen Yasmin, Managing Director of SHRL and Dr. Chowdhury Tonny Toruneema Billah Beshari, Core Scientific Officer from Smart Healthcare and Research Ltd. (SHRL) successfully participated in the initial meeting with the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA).
The meeting included a meaningful discussion on Patient Empowerment and explored future opportunities for collaborative research in this important field.
We are also honored that Prof. Dr. Fatema Ashraf has been invited to present one of her research projects at the next WFPHA meeting.
We look forward to strengthening global collaboration and advancing patient empowerment through research, knowledge exchange, and collective action.

গত ১৯ জুন ২০২৬, বৃহস্পতিবার, ইউনিকো হাসপাতাল এর গাইনি ও অবস বিভাগের সিনিয়র কনসালটেন্ট ও স্মার্ট হেলথ কেয়ার এন্ড রিসার্চ লিমিটেডের সম্মানিত চেয়ারপারসন প্রফেসর ডা: ফাতেমা আশরাফ এবং ম্যানেজিং ডিরেক্টর, প্রফেসর ডা: শারমিন ইয়াসমিন ইউনিকো হাসপাতাল পি. এল. সি. তে ক্যালিফোর্নিয়ার স্টেট ইউনিভার্সিটির কমিউনিকেশন ডিপার্টমেন্টের চেয়ারম্যান ডা. আবু নাসের রাজীবের সাথে এক সভায় মিলিত হন।
তারা নিজ নিজ এলাকার স্বাস্থ্য উন্নয়নে কিভাবে অবদান রাখা সম্ভব তা নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন।
আলোচনায় প্রফেসর ডা: ফাতেমা আশরাফ এবং প্রফেসর ডা: শারমিন ইয়াসমিন দীর্ঘ পথ চলায় রোগীদের সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধি (Patient Empowerment) নিয়ে নিজেদের অবস্থান তুলে ধরেন। বন্ধাত্ব্য, ডায়াবেটিস ও স্থুলতা এর মত দীর্ঘমেয়াদি রোগ সমূহের ব্যবস্থাপনার বিভিন্ন কার্যক্রমে রোগীদের সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধির সাফল্যের অভিজ্ঞতা এবং এটিকে সর্বজনীন স্বাস্থ্য সুরক্ষা কার্যক্রমে সম্পৃক্ত করার বিষয়ে সরকারের অংশগ্রহণের প্রয়োজনীয়তার উপর আলোকপাত করেন।
এই মহৎ উদ্যোগের অংশ হিসেবে কুমারখালি কুষ্টিয়াতে এবং নড়াইলে কাজ করার জন্য তারা দৃঢ় প্রত্যয় ব্যক্ত করেন।
এই কাজে আরো সমমনা মানুষের স্বতঃস্ফূর্ত অংশগ্রহণ থাকবে বলেও ওনারা জানান।
পরিশেষে ড. আবু নাসের রাজিব ইউনিকো হাসপাতালের বিভিন্ন ইউনিট পরিদর্শন করেন এবং বাংলাদেশে এরকম একটি মানসম্মত হাসপাতালের দক্ষ পরিচালনার জন্য কর্তৃপক্ষের ভূয়সী প্রশংসা করেন।
