Boerhaavia diffusa — Complete Clinical Picture
১. মূল কেন্দ্র — Fluid retention / Dropsy
এই remedy-র সবচেয়ে জোরালো traditional picture হলো শরীরে অতিরিক্ত তরল জমা ও urine কমে যাওয়া।
চোখের পাতা ফুলে যাওয়া
হাত-পা ফুলে যাওয়া
পেট ফুলে যাওয়া/ascites-এর মতো picture
পা ভারী লাগা
পা থেকে উরু পর্যন্ত edema
generalized dropsical swelling
swelling-এর সঙ্গে urine কম ও গাঢ় রঙের
পুরনো Drugs of Hindoosthan-এর clinical cases-এ হঠাৎ পা-ও-পায়ের পাতা ফুলে যাওয়া, scanty/high-coloured urine এবং hepatic-region pain-এর সঙ্গে Boerhaavia ব্যবহারের কথা আছে। �

অর্থাৎ remedy-টির একটি সহজ keynote:
Edema + scanty, high-coloured urine.
২. Kidney / Urinary system — খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ
Boerhaavia-র urinary picture বেশ prominent:
urine scanty
urine dark/high-coloured
urine বের হতে কষ্ট
urinary retention
dribbling
bladder-এর অস্বস্তি/ব্যথা
edema-এর সঙ্গে oliguria
কিছু homeopathic literature-এ nephritis ও bladder swelling-এর কথাও উল্লেখ আছে। �

এখানে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ clinical distinction:
Boerhaavia = শুধু “kidney remedy” নয়।
বরং picture হলো—
kidney/urinary dysfunction → urine কম → fluid retention → edema.
৩. Heart
Cardiac symptoms-ও remedy picture-এর সঙ্গে যুক্ত হতে পারে:
palpitation
heart fluttering/trembling
intermittent throbbing cardiac pain
exertion-এ dyspnoea
gasping for breath
বিশেষ করে edema + palpitation + breathlessness একসঙ্গে থাকলে Boerhaavia-র traditional picture আরও পরিষ্কার হয়। �

৪. Respiratory
Respiratory side-এ প্রধানত:
cough
thick white mucus
dyspnoea
exertion-এ শ্বাসকষ্ট
asthmatic tendency
পুরনো clinical case-এ cough with thick white mucous expectoration সরাসরি নথিভুক্ত হয়েছে। �

তবে এখানে আমি এটাকে সাধারণ asthma remedy হিসেবে নেব না।
বরং:
Asthma/dyspnoea + edema + scanty urine
এই combination থাকলে Boerhaavia বেশি characteristic হয়ে ওঠে।
৫. Liver
Liver-এর ক্ষেত্রেও একটি উল্লেখযোগ্য affinity বর্ণিত হয়েছে:
hepatic region-এ pain
touch/pressure-এ pain
congested/tender liver-এর picture
chronic hepatic disturbance
abdominal swelling/ascites-এর সঙ্গে hepatic involvement
একটি পুরনো clinical case-এ liver congested এবং pressure-এ painful ছিল, সঙ্গে hands, feet ও abdomen-এ considerable swelling এবং scanty, high-coloured urine ছিল। �

আরেকটি interesting modality:
hepatic pain → hard pressure-এ better—এটিও কিছু materia-medica source-এ দেওয়া হয়েছে। �

৬. Head
একটি বেশ interesting keynote:
Right-sided severe/bursting headache
কিছু repertorial literature-এ Boerhaavia-র সঙ্গে terrible bursting right-sided headache, giddiness এবং cold application-এ amelioration উল্লেখ আছে। �
Joseph Repertory
অর্থাৎ:
Right-sided headache + giddiness
এটি remedy-টির একটি স্মরণযোগ্য characteristic।
৭. Rheumatic / Musculoskeletal
কিছু clinical literature-এ:
সারা শরীরে rheumatic pain
body ache
heaviness
বিশেষ করে edema-র সঙ্গে limb discomfort
বর্ণিত হয়েছে। �

তবে rheumatic pain-কে একা Boerhaavia-র strong keynote বলা ঠিক হবে না। Edema/urinary picture থাকলে গুরুত্ব অনেক বাড়ে।
৮. General physical picture
একটি সংক্ষিপ্ত clinical image করলে:
Boerhaavia diffusa রোগীকে ভাবুন—
শরীরে পানি জমছে,
পা/চোখ/হাত ফুলছে,
urine কম এবং গাঢ়,
শরীর ভারী,
সঙ্গে liver বা kidney involvement,
কখনো palpitation ও exertional dyspnoea।
এটাই remedy-টির সবচেয়ে শক্তিশালী কেন্দ্র।
