Prof Tanzeem S Chowdhury, professor and Head of department of obstetrics and gynecology, BIRDEM general hospital is seeing patients regularly in Farida clinic and infertility management center.

She is an well reputed infertility specialist with a long experience in management of infertility, high risk pregnancy and reproductive problems of women.

She is a fellow of the Royal college of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. And she has been trained in UK, Singapore and India in infertility management and IVF.

Dr. Farida Khatun is the founder of Farida Clinic. She graduated from Dhaka Medical College in 1962. Since, she had served Dhaka Medical College Hospital as Assistant Registrar, Registrar, and Resident Surgeon from 1963-1966. She had also worked at Mitford Hospital from 1966-1970. She nurtured the vision for a private clinic dedicated to women’s health and founded Farida Clinic in 1967. It remains the first government-recognized private clinic in Dhaka. She has been its driving force overseeing the management as well as the clinical side. Though the clinic did not have an official name, it came to be known because of her. So, we decided to officially call it Farida Clinic.

Prof T. A. Chowdhury is currently an Honorary Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Chief Consultant at BIRDEM Hospital, Dhaka. He has also been a Professor of Obs/Gyn and the Director of the Postgraduate Medical Institute (PG Hospital) in Dhaka presently known as BSMMU. He has served as the President of the Obstetrical & Gynecological Society of Bangladesh, South Asian Federation of Obs/Gyn (SAFOG) and Bangladesh Perinatal Society. He has been a founder-consultant of Farida Clinic since its establishment in 1967. He has also founded and consulted patients at the Infertility Management Center since 1992. In 2017, he was awarded Bangladesh’s highest civil award, Swadhinata Padak by the Government of Bangladesh.
