Pair of 1970s table lamps featuring mushroom-shaped shades. The lamps have a chrome steel base, the shades are made from warm-hued copper. Over the years, both lamps have developed a beautiful patina. When lit, they have a soft light, perfect for creating a cozy atmosphere.

Hommage to Fontana

Dino Gavina was an Italian entrepreneur, designer and publisher. He is the founder of the companies Gavina Spa, Flos and Simon. His big influence in Italian design revolutionized the field of furniture and lighting.

It was with Lucio Fontana that Gavina had a great friendship that would last a lifetime. Over the course of more than a decade, Gavina would direct Fontana to the greatest architects in Milan for the design of their products.

In 1964, following the “Lamiere” exhibition at the Gavina shop in Milan, the idea to make an artwork together was created. A large metal plated object through which a line of mechanically perforated holes would run. Finished in different variations with red, yellow, black and white lacquers. Unfortunately, Fontana passed away shortly thereafter, never to complete the work himself. Following his death, Gavina would ask every artist to pass through his spaces how to go about creating a proper tribute to Fontana. In 1995, he took the task upon himself, creating the mirror ‘‘Homage to Fontana’’.

1969 Dining table / desk designed by J. Batenburg for MI, Belgium. Mi is little known, but every find is a treasure. Their furniture shows craftsmanship and quality. Through the years, the table has aged nicely with a dark brown patina.

Pierre Folie Hydra chrome floor or table lamp. Designed and manufactured in France in 1969 by Jacques Charpentier. Folie is best known for his work in stainless steel, a material that was then relatively new to the design world. His designs in seating and lighting were characterized by simple, clean geometric shapes, as well as elegant curved lines.This playful lamp has five directional branches that can be positioned in multitude directions to achieve the perfect setting of lighting. This Djinn lounge chair by is ready for a new upholstery and new foam. Looking forward to see the result. Although i did not decided a color yet i know this work will be done with an eye for detail.

Inspiring views of the Luc Peire’s foundation seen trough the lens of .desmet for .
This bungalow was build in the 1960s in a modest garden in Kokke, Belgium. Tis period, Peire had established himself in Paris, this bungalow was built onto the atelier to allow him to spend the summer months in a quiet corner of the Belgian coast. The interior is still decorated and furnished with the original interior. A minimalist interior with the color blue as a recurring detail.
