The peacock feather is often associated with vision, awareness, and the ability to see beyond the obvious. Its eye-like pattern has appeared throughout mythology and spiritual traditions as a symbol of perception, intuition, and hidden knowledge. It invites us to look closer—to move beyond surface appearances and discover deeper layers of meaning.

What fascinates me is that this symbolism was not a conscious starting point for this image.
I rarely start a shoot with a story in mind. Most images emerge from intuition, atmosphere, and a black-and-white aesthetic that resonates with me in the moment. Only later, when I revisit the photographs and spend time with them, do symbols begin to reveal themselves...

Van het Oudgriekse ἀνεμώνη (anemōnē), afgeleid van ἄνεμος — wind.
Dochter van de wind.🪶

Met veel vreugde en dankbaarheid mag ik de eerste onthulling delen van een nieuwe visuele filmtrilogie die momenteel ontstaat. 🖤

Ik ben bijzonder vereerd dat ik voor deze videorelease mag samenwerken met componiste en zangeres 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐚𝐫𝐭,
wiens prachtige compositie 𝘛𝘢𝘺𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘦, afkomstig van haar album 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐢𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬, een bijzondere muzikale laag zal dragen binnen deze vertoning.

I feel deeply honoured to collaborate for this new video release with composer and singer 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐚𝐫𝐭, whose beautiful composition 𝘛𝘢𝘺𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘦, created for her album 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐢𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬, will carry a powerful musical layer within this screening.

Throughout history, crowns worn by women often represented more than royalty:
they symbolized intuition, fertility, mysticism, nature, sacrifice, and rebirth. In these images, the crown becomes a transformation rather than a decoration.

Saint Bavo’s Abbey, founded in the 7th century in Ghent, carries centuries of destruction and rebirth within its walls. The ruined Gothic space, the stone textures, and the sacred light create a setting that feels timeless — somewhere between ritual, memory, and myth.
