Dear beloved,

One way to wake up out of the confusion of our mind is to fully devote ourselves to a deity, a master, or ultimate reality (e.g., awakened awareness). In the Indian tradition this is known as Bhakti Yoga. It is practised through prayer, ritual, singing, dancing, and more. The totality of our opening toward the _other_ breaks through our self-involvement and sets us free.

Interested in practising with us? This Wednesday at 7pm we practise through devotional singing.

Dear beloved,

Together with Joshua and Max, we have developed a new program for young adults (18-30): The Inner Frontier.

The Inner Frontier is a program for young adults (18–30) who are seeking themselves, their place in the world, and/or real, deep connections with fellow seekers. Through six weekends spread between September and May it aims to increase our self-understanding, sharpen our thinking and relational skills, and deepen the connection with our bodies, with others, and with nature.

Alongside the core practices of House of the beloved (meditation, authentic presence, shadow work, and existential inquiry) you are invited to propose activities and to shape the structure of the program so that it fits (y)our existential needs as closely as possible.

This is not a workshop. It is a gateway to a deeper and more authentic way of living.

If you resonate with this and want to get to know us, you are warmly invited to join on the 25th of June 7pm or 1st of July 7pm for an info-session that cuts right through the chase through practice, radical honesty, intimate connection and free exploration of what it means to be human. (Registration at the bottom of the website)

May you be well.

Transformative gatherings for young adults (18–30) who want to grow in self-understanding and deepen their connection with their bodies, with others, and with nature.

Dear beloved,

More and more people are asking questions about Gxd - the nameless, the ultimate, the transcendent, Jesus, God, Shiva, Allah, Kālī, Bhairava, the silence with many names, and more - and about how to pray.

After postmodernism destabilised the major religions and their concepts of God (by showing that they are culturally constructed, linguistically mediated, and never self-evident) many people liberated themselves from these often oppressive structures. Yet a hunger for meaning and transcendence remained.

*But how does worship look when you neither want to regress into naivety nor dry up in scepticism?*

The answer lies in practices that bring us back to the pre-conceptual - an experience of reality and Gxd not mediated by language or concept - without losing the sharpness of a critical mind. House of the Beloved offers an ecology of ideas and practices to support you in this search.

We are thinking about organising a workshop on:

* prayer, and how it differs from meditation
* concepts of Gxd, and what deconstructive seasoning they need to become palatable for a contemporary, critical tongue
* the role of the body in direct, unmediated experience
* reactivating rituals that open toward the transcendent
* how sincere worship might look in daily life

Would you be interested?

May you be well.

Dear community,

Below you see an image showing the different steps in learning to concentrate (also known as the "staying/calm“ meditation).

- the *monk* represents you
- the *elephant* represents your mind -easily startled, and when frightened becoming uncontrollable and destructive
- the *monkey* represents the distractions of thoughts and the senses

Using the rope of mindfulness and the hook of meta-cognition (your ability to detect distraction quickly and return to the meditation object) the monk gradually tames the elephant - calming the mind, so it stays where you want it to be.

Are you drawn to the idea of a calm mind, that stays where you want it to be?

We decided to turn our meditation weekend into a meditation day (Saturday 16/5, 9:30-17:00). Maybe this makes it more accessible for you too. You can still register using this url: https://shorturl.at/9rQ10

May you be well.

If you don’t have a problem with yourself, you will not have any with society. Society is clear, perfect, except if you live in expectation, in intention. There lies conflict. … The environment does not create any psychological hurt. If it triggers the slightest difficulty in me, this means that I carry a form of judgement: I see it and I come back to myself. Instead of living with reality, I think that the environment should be different. The environment is what it is. If you don’t agree with reality, you have a problem - not with it, but with yourself. - Eric Baret, Let the moon be free

The other day someone asked: why should we meditate? I answered: without a calm mind and deep self-insight, you make yourself and those around you suffer. How? Because you keep projecting your issues onto the world. Meditation helps you understand this mechanism. It frees you from self-inflicted misery, and it frees the world from your projections. What do you think?

This weekend we meditate together. You can still join: 15-17/5 https://shorturl.at/5tCYe

For whom?

* You want to learn to meditate but don't know where to start
* You've been meditating for a while but feel stuck
* Spirituality is your life, yet you're still triggered by many things
* You're abiding in the "god realm" - well, you probably don't need it, right?
* You're completely lost in life
* You're a seasoned meditator wanting detailed instructions and clarity about how to wake up
* You want to learn to regulate your nervous system

> “Now I’m a lot more mindful and aware. There’s less FOMO, less chasing highs, and less fearing the lows. It’s been truly liberating. Even though my ego resists from time to time, I can see how much positive change has come from it. Unlike other things I’ve tried, this isn’t outside of me, it’s about waking up to what’s inside. And that’s been a profound change for me.” - testimony meditation participant

May you be well.

Want to start meditating or deepen your meditation? Do you want a calm mind? Be more intimate with yourself? Learn the difference between meditation and dissociation or marination? This weekend-long meditation training will support you. Finally going nowhere.

Dear community,

Are there any researchers (scientific, artistic, philosophical,…) in this community that would like to contribute to our existential research center? It’s a platform in the heart of House of the Beloved where we critically and systematically explore and design different ways of being human.

Next week we host some informal gatherings to meet, brainstorm, wonder, question, dialogue, experience, and build together. Some of us are also participating in OpenField, a five-day gathering dedicated to the possible futures and autonomies of artistic research.

More information about existential research you can find here:

If this resonates, please get in touch and join us. You can send me a private message or email (see website).

May you be well.
