Some of the most valuable learning opportunities don’t have to fit into your calendar – they’re already available whenever you are.

Whether you’re discovering the OECI Academy for the first time or looking to continue your professional development, the Academy offers practical educational resources designed for early-career oncology professionals.

From expert-led webinars on grantsmanship and research funding to residential courses and other learning opportunities, the Academy supports professionals at different stages of their careers through practical, experience-based education.

This autumn, the Academy will also welcome participants to its Residential Course on Scientific Writing and Communication in Valencia, continuing its mission to equip young researchers with the skills needed to communicate science more effectively.

If summer gives you a little more space to pause and reflect, it can be a good opportunity to catch up on the Academy’s recorded webinars and explore the wider educational programme.

One of the lasting outcomes of CCI4EU is the Resource Centre — an online hub bringing together practical tools, learning materials and best practices to support the development of Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures across Europe.

The Resource Centre includes validated resources developed by the CCI4EU consortium and other European initiatives, covering topics such as clinical and translational research, patient pathways, early detection, data sharing and capacity building.

Young professionals are already helping drive the future of oncology — but too often, their perspectives remain underrepresented in shaping oncology strategy and collaboration across international networks.

To help change this, OECI launched OECI NextGen.

Formerly known as the OECI Young Network, OECI NextGen provides a structured platform for early-career researchers, healthcare professionals and managers to contribute more actively to OECI’s strategy and activities.

The initiative focuses on strengthening networking, improving dialogue with OECI leadership, supporting career development, and fostering new collaborations across the OECI community.

Oncology Days 2026 was not only a moment to reflect on progress — it was a moment to shape what comes next for OECI and for cancer care in Europe.

Over three days in Warsaw, cancer professionals, researchers, institutional leaders and patient advocates from across the OECI network came together to exchange ideas, share best practices and discuss some of the most pressing challenges in cancer care.

From prevention and quality assurance to patient partnership and stronger cancer networks, one message resonated throughout the event: reducing inequalities in cancer care requires collaboration, shared standards and continuous learning.

Above all, Oncology Days 2026 reminded us of OECI’s greatest strength — its community.

Thank you to all speakers, participants, partners and to the Narodowy Instytut Onkologii im.Marii Skłodowskiej-Curie - PIB for making this edition so meaningful 💛

Together, we continue building a more connected and equitable future for cancer care.

Strong research deserves strong communication.

The ability to write clearly, present confidently, and explain the impact of your work can shape how your research is understood and valued.

The OECI Academy Residential Course is designed to help early-career researchers strengthen these skills through practical learning, expert guidance, and peer exchange.

This October, OECI Academy returns with a new residential course focused on scientific writing and communication.

✨ Looking back at a memorable evening in Warsaw.

The OECI Gala Dinner at the Kubicki Arcades of the Royal Castle gave us a chance to pause, celebrate and even dance beyond the conference sessions!

Good conversations, shared laughter and a beautiful celebration of Polish culture made it a truly special evening — and a reminder of the wonderful community behind OECI 💛

🔵 What does lasting impact look like in European cancer collaboration?

During the CCI4EU session at the , participants reflected on the project’s long-term legacy and the importance of sustaining collaboration beyond the project itself.

As Principal Investigator Maja Cemazar noted, CCI4EU helped build “infrastructures designed to improve quality and reduce inequalities in cancer care across Europe.”

Its legacy continues through practical tools, shared expertise and long-term collaboration between cancer centres.

Among the key outcomes highlighted was the creation of a Resources Centre with more than 200 curated resources to support continued capacity building across Europe.
