🌿 A glimpse of our Summer Retreat ☀️

Three days of slowing down, mindful cooking, nourishing food, meditation, laughter, nature and wonderful people.

A gentle reminder that sometimes the most important thing we can do is pause, breathe and reconnect with what truly nourishes us.

Thank you to everyone who shared this beautiful weekend with us. 💚

"We have to relearn the art of resting."

Learning to rest is just as important as learning to achieve.

Almost 90,000 downloads. 💙

When I recorded the very first guided meditation, I simply hoped it would offer a few moments of calm to those who needed it.

Today, the Brussels Mindfulness podcast has been downloaded almost 90,000 times.

To everyone who has listened, shared an episode, or made these meditations part of your daily life—thank you. Your messages over the years have touched us deeply. Hearing how these practices have helped during stressful days, sleepless nights, difficult moments, or simply brought a little more peace to the start of the day reminds us why we do this.

In the meantime, the podcast has grown to include more than 300 guided meditations, created by over 30 experienced teachers—all available free of charge.

If you haven't discovered the podcast yet, you can listen on Spotify or Podbean.

And if these meditations have brought a little more calm into your life, we'd be grateful if you shared the podcast with someone who might benefit from it too.

Together, let's see if we can reach 100,000 downloads. 💙

Thank you for being part of this journey.

Last week we completed another 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course with Rainer Arndt. 🌿

Every MBSR course is unique, and this one was no exception. Over the past eight weeks, it has been a privilege to witness this wonderful group slowing down, meeting life's challenges with greater awareness, and discovering new ways of relating to themselves with kindness and compassion.

The heartfelt messages we received after the course touched us deeply and reminded us once again why we love this work. Thank you to each participant for your openness, courage and trust throughout this journey. It has been an honour to accompany you over these past eight weeks.

We wish you all the very best as you continue your mindfulness practice. May it support you for many years to come.

Our next 8-week MBSR course starts in September. If you have been thinking about joining, we'd love to welcome you. You can find all the details on our website.

Nothing to do, nowhere to go. 🌿

How much of your day is spent striving, fixing, planning, achieving, or getting somewhere?

In this new 26-minute guided meditation, Beate Trück invites you to pause and explore a different way of relating to experience: receiving rather than doing. Through sounds, the breath, and bodily sensations, we practise simply being with what is here—without needing to change anything.

Sometimes the most healing thing we can do is stop doing and simply be.

I'd love to hear how you experience the meditation.

☀️ As summer approaches, many people are looking forward to a well-deserved break.

But perhaps the more interesting question is not:

"Where are you going this summer?"

But:

"What are you hoping your holiday will give you?"

More rest?
More joy?
More connection?
More freedom?

Before your holiday begins, take a moment to choose three words that describe how you would like to feel this summer.

🌿 One of the paradoxes of modern life is that we spend much of our time in doing mode – planning, organising, achieving, solving and responding.

Yet genuine recovery happens through being.

Being present.
Being connected.
Being curious.
Being at ease.

✨ And there lies a common holiday pitfall.

We plan our holidays as carefully as our working lives and then wonder why we don't feel fully restored.

Without realising it, we bring the same doing mode that exhausted us into the very holiday that is meant to restore us.

If what you long for is spaciousness, ease and presence, perhaps less is more.

Perhaps not every day needs an itinerary.

Perhaps not every moment needs to be filled.

Sometimes the most nourishing moments happen in the space between the plans: a slow breakfast, an unhurried conversation, a walk with nowhere to be, a quiet afternoon with a book.

💛 What three words would you like to describe your summer?

W'd love to hear them in the comments.

Another Positive Neuroplasticity Training journey has come to an end. ❤️
Over the past six weeks, this group explored simple yet powerful ways to grow more calm, resilience, joy, self-compassion and connection in everyday life.
One of the most hopeful things I know is that our brains can continue to change throughout life. By learning to savour and take in positive experiences, we can gradually strengthen inner resources that support us through life's challenges.
During our closing session, participants shared reflections that deeply touched me:
✨ "I learned how taking in small pleasant moments can lift my mood."
✨ "Understanding that I can literally change my brain for the better has been a huge game changer."
✨ "For the first time, I feel I have practical tools I can use when life gets difficult."
✨ "I finally found a way to fill that hole in my heart that has been there for so long."
Thank you to everyone who joined this journey with such openness, courage and commitment. It is always a privilege to witness people discovering that small moments, repeated over time, can create profound change.
💚 What is one small positive moment you have taken in recently?

What if a retreat could nourish more than your mind?

Many retreats focus on meditation.

Our special summer retreat with Beate Trück, Katrien Maes and Viannou Coëme also invites you into the kitchen.

From 10–12 July, we will gather in the peaceful countryside of Wallonia for a weekend of mindfulness, nature, gentle movement, mindful cooking and shared meals. Together we will prepare delicious plant-based dishes, explore the art of eating with awareness, and discover how food can become a practice of presence, connection and joy.

There will be meditation, mindful movement, time in nature, silence, meaningful conversation, and three hands-on cooking workshops guided by experiential cook Viannou Coëme. You will also have the opportunity to book a deeply nourishing Ayurvedic massage with Katrien Maes.

If the first half of the year has felt busy, demanding or overwhelming, this retreat offers a chance to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and savour life's simple pleasures. A chance to return home feeling nourished in body, heart and mind.

✨ Small group (max. 12 participants)
✨ Beautiful retreat centre in Dongelberg
✨ 10–12 July 2026
✨ A few places still available
✨ Early bird discount until 15 June

If you feel called to give yourself a nourishing pause this summer, we'd love to welcome you.

Small habits, big changes

Yesterday I had the pleasure of facilitating a habit change workshop for members of the Brussels Mindfulness community.

One of the key insights: lasting change rarely comes from willpower alone.

It often starts with something much smaller.

A mindful breath before opening the laptop.
A short walk after lunch.
Taking a moment to appreciate something good before rushing on to the next thing.

Small actions, repeated consistently, can shape the direction of a life.

What is one small habit that has made a positive difference for you?
