In an era of AI & technology, quick fixes are one search away. Rarely to provide relief from chronic illness & stress. The solution is layered into lifestyle choices. That isn’t simple, changing your life; day to day habits die hard.

Yoga has turned into a “fad” that requires sweat, heat or whatever shape we need to contort our bodies into. We keep looking for something new because, again, the fix isn’t manifesting fast enough. Yoga Asana, the physical practice of yoga, is simply one small branch of the practice of yoga.

Yoga is a lifestyle that demands attention and carefulness in every moment and breath. My teacher always says “check in 100,000 times a day with your breath” and while that seems exaggerated we are being pummeled with so much information and distraction it really requires this level of exaggeration to begin to touch the authentic form of ourselves.

Our authenticity is connected to health, peace and deep rest. If these things are out of alignment in you, it is simply an invitation to check into your routine, habits and chatter in yourself (beliefs about how your world should be). Look for simple changes which are within reach, start there.

An in studio class can be helpful because being guided and reminded to focus on your breath builds concentration. The main goal, ultimately, is to be able to “just sit” (meditate). The simplest form of practice is most effective.

It is time to make a change. That change starts within yourself. From inside out, we transform. ✨
