In case everyone hasn't noticed, it's hot out! Really hot! A lot of people don't have airco, and so it's sticky and uncomfortable. If you can get up early to open windows in the morning to air out the house and let the cool air in, it's the best thing. You can get material for window screens at the Action store, or at any brico, hubo, gamma store. Or, you can buy tulle and just use packing tape to put them up over the open windows. Of course, you can't leave those windows open when no-one is home. I do the same thing in the evening, and just leave the windows open in the bedroom while we sleep. Everyone can make their own decision about which rooms to cool off at night. We have ceiling fans and we just run that in the bedroom at night. Of course, we use them during the day if we need to do so. Hydration is super-important. Ice is my friend! And lastly, please don't allow yourself to get drawn into arguments while it's so hot. Research has shown that many people become annoyed and have big arguments while it's hot. If you can, go to the seaside for the day. Do something while it's cooler. Get your workout in, earlier in the day. Here in Europe, there are laws as to what has to happen when the temperature gets high. This may include shorter workdays. You may notice that the post office, or other communal offices switch to "summer hours" due to the weather. That means they open earlier and shut during certain hours you might expect them to be open. They will announce that on their websites. Lastly, don't forget the ice cream! That can lift your spirits like nothing else when it's hot! We make it at home. A quart bag of frozen strawberries (slightly thawed, enough so the strawberries are not stuck together), a container of marscapone, some cold milk, and into the culinary robot! The perfect ending for a hot day :)
