A New Chapter Begins
Today marks the beginning of a deeply meaningful chapter in my professional journey as a Consultant in Liver Transplantation at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. This hospital holds a very special place in my heart—during nearly four years of fellowship here, I not only honed my skills in liver transplantation and hepatopancreatobiliary surgery but also grew tremendously as a person. Every member of the team and staff left an indelible mark on me, shaping the way I approach medicine and patient care.
Leaving Birmingham years ago always felt like leaving a part of myself behind. I identified deeply with the people, the ethos of the hospital, and the unwavering commitment to putting the patient first. This philosophy continues to guide my decisions and drives my passion for my work.
The past seven years in Brazil as a consultant have been full of challenges, learning experiences, joys, and occasional frustrations—but each has strengthened my dedication to my patients and my craft. Returning now to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, with my family by my side—including my four-month-old son—is an incredible honor and a milestone that is profoundly important for my career and personal growth.
I am excited to contribute to this exceptional service, collaborate with the team, and continue prioritizing our patients above all. My deepest gratitude goes to God, my husband and unwavering partner, my family, my son who will only make me stronger, my patients, my friends, and my mentors who have supported me along this journey.
Always together
