Presence Psychotherapy offers an expanded understanding of Relational Presence. Traditionally, Relational Presence may be thought of as the therapist’s empathy, or the client’s compassion for themselves or traumatized parts of themselves. The concept of Relational Presence in Presence Psychotherapy is awareness of compassion or love toward or from someone or something. This may include the therapist, loved ones, animals (including pets), Spiritual Beings, objects, or themselves/traumatized parts of the self.
