As a Bahamian, I believe knowing our history is an important part of knowing who we are.
I was proud to sponsor a jitney for the The Bahamas National Reparations Emancipation Day Historical Tour, helping members of our community visit the Pompey Museum, Queen’s Staircase, Bethlehem Cemetery, Bethel Baptist Church and other places connected to our history of slavery, emancipation and resistance.
Led by historian and cultural advocate Chris Davis Christopher Ömo-Shango Davis the tour was a powerful reminder that our ancestors were never simply passive. They resisted, organized and fought for change—and their courage continues to shape who we are today.
Thank you to The Bahamas National Reparations and Christopher Ömo-Shango Davis for creating such a meaningful opportunity to learn, reflect and honour those who came before us. It was a privilege for Viva Physio to play a small part.
