🌍 World Physiotherapy Day 2026 | 8 September

Tsirang Hospital observed World Physiotherapy Day with a brief presentation on the important role of physiotherapy in the prevention, management, and rehabilitation of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) and Stroke.

The session highlighted how regular physical activity and early rehabilitation can help improve strength, mobility, independence, and overall quality of life.

The Physiotherapy Department also encouraged all healthcare professionals to be ambassadors of physical activity—leading by example and encouraging healthier, more active lifestyles among our patients, families, and community.

A simple observance, but an important reminder that movement is an essential part of health, recovery, and well-being. 💙

The Staff Coordination Meeting of Tsirang Hospital was conducted on 5 September 2026 under the leadership of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Administration, (Adm. Officer )and Quality Assurance Focal (QAF). Various important matters related to hospital operations, coordination, and service delivery were discussed. The several key issues and action points were addressed, resulting in positive outcomes and strengthened coordination among the staff.

💧 A Drop of Water Makes an Ocean, and a Unit of Blood Can Save a Life. 🩸

The Bhutan Red Cross Society, Tsirang Branch, coordinated by Norbu Chezom, in collaboration with the Laboratory Unit of Tsirang Hospital, successfully conducted a one-day Blood Donation Campaign to help ensure a safe and timely blood supply for patients in critical need, particularly those undergoing major surgeries and other medical emergencies.

Tsirang Hospital expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Bhutan Red Cross Society, Tsirang Branch, the coordinators, healthcare team, and most importantly, all the generous blood donors who came forward to support this noble cause.

22/08/26. Hospital Fire Safety Training.

A fire safety training session was conducted for all hospital staff by officials from the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) Tsirang as part of the hospital’s Emergency Preparedness and Response measures. The training focused on preparedness and appropriate response in the event of a fire outbreak within the hospital. Staff were trained on the safe and effective use of fire extinguishers, including the PASS technique (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep), and the importance of prompt action during a fire emergency.

World Breastfeeding Week 1st August to 7th August, 2026.

Tsirang Hospital observed World Breastfeeding Week (1–7 August) by conducting awareness sessions on breastfeeding practices, counselling, management of breastfeeding challenges, and the role of health workers in promoting and supporting breastfeeding. The programme also included practical demonstrations and group discussions.

To mark the occasion, a friendly football match was organized among hospital staff to promote unity and support the campaign. The football ground was provided free of charge in support of the World Breastfeeding Week celebration.
