A respiratory outbreak disaster preparedness drill was successfully conducted today at Bartsham Hospital. The drill was designed to strengthen our readiness to respond to potential public health emergencies.
The simulation involved patient surge with presentations ranging from mild to severe, life threatening respiratory illness. It challenged our team to apply triaging protocols, emergency management, infection control and prevention measures while coordinating decision making in real time.
The drill provided an opportunity to test our readiness, system and communication while identifying gaps and reinforcing teamwork under pressure. The importance of early recognition, efficient resource utilization, infection control and proper coordination during rapidly evolving situations were highlighted.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the administration, staff and students of Bartsham Central School for their invaluable support, participation, and cooperation throughout the exercise. Their involvement greatly enhanced the realism and impact of the drill, making it a learning experience for all involved.
With this drill, we move one step closer to building a safer and more resilient community.Bartsham Central School
