Botswana Vaccine Institute (BVI) was pleased to be part of the courtesy call between Botswana’s Minister of Lands and Agriculture, Hon. Dr. Edwin Dikoloti, and Lesotho’s Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition, Hon. Selibe Mochoboroane, today, aimed at strengthening agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
BVI appreciated Hon. Dr. Dikoloti’s emphasis on deepening trade relations and advancing areas of mutual interest between Botswana and Lesotho, including his confirmation that Lesotho will receive FMD Vaccines supply from Botswana through BVI by end of July 2026, with BVI further prepared to provide the necessary technical expertise.
BVI Acting Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Keabetswe Moagabo, attended the engagement, where discussions highlighted the importance of regional collaboration in animal health, vaccine supply and agricultural development.
As Botswana and Lesotho continue to strengthen cooperation in agriculture, trade and animal production, BVI remains committed to supporting regional disease control through quality-assured veterinary vaccines, technical expertise and partnerships that protect livestock, livelihoods and advance food security and trade.
