Celebrating Mothers of Hospitalised Children

Today, 30 May 2026, the Botswana Paediatric Association, in collaboration with Sir Ketumile Masire Teaching Hospital and Princess Marina Hospital, hosted a special event dedicated to celebrating and supporting mothers of hospitalised children.

Many of these mothers face emotional stress, uncertainty, disrupted routines, and long hours at their child's bedside, all while remaining a constant source of comfort, strength, and hope for their children.

The day featured light exercise, dancing, health screenings, sharing of experiences, words of encouragement from healthcare professionals and social workers, as well as snacks and gifts. It was a small but meaningful token of appreciation for the resilience, dedication, and unwavering love these mothers demonstrate every day.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Botswana-Baylor Children's Clinical Centre of Excellence, University of Botswana Radio, the Nephrology Society of Botswana, Perfect Pour, Pakistan Association of Botswana, Choppies, Fifty Five Circles, and all the individuals, healthcare workers, and volunteers whose generosity and support made this event possible.

To all mothers caring for a sick child: we see you, we appreciate you, and we celebrate you.

Your strength inspires us, and your love makes a difference every day.
