What If the Life You Want Starts With Appreciating the Life You Have?
Sometimes we spend so much time looking at what we dont have than what is already there.
Teens may wish for more freedom, the latest smart phone, or a different life altogether, while parents may wish their children listened more, worked harder, or appreciated them more.
But gratitude changes how we see things. It doesn't ignore our challenges but rather; it helps us see beyond them.
Gratitude might be a simple as recognizing the parent who sacrifices quietly, the child who is trying harder than they show, the roof over your head, the opportunity to go to school, living in a peaceful country and the people who stand by you when life gets tough.
Our is culture built on the principles of botho and therefore gratitude reminds us that every blessing, every lesson, and every opportunity is connected to someone who cared, helped, or believed in us.
We get to acknowledge that happiness doesn't come after we get everything we want; often, it begins the moment we appreciate what we already have. When we pause and reflect on what we are grateful for, we then begin to realise that how blessed we are and that even on difficult days, there is always something worth being thankful for.
What are you grateful for today? (O bale masego a gago, a o a neilweng ke Modimo. O a bale, huma ka one, mme o tlaa hakgamalela dineo🙏🤗)
