⁉️ What can an Abdominal Ultrasound detect ⁉️
This is a widely used diagnostic test 🩺 to examine for changes in organs, tissue and blood vessels 🔍This scan ultrasonically assesses the solid abdominal organs such as the Liver, Kidneys, Pancreas, Gallbladder, Spleen, Aorta, Bladder, Uterus, Ovaries (+/-) Prostate.
An abdominal ultrasound scan can help find the cause of a problem and it can also be used to monitor an existing condition/pathology 📈 .
Common pathologies 👨⚕️ which can be identified on an Abdominal Ultrasound;
➡️ Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA)
➡️ Kidney stones and cysts
➡️ Hydronephrosis (Kidney obstruction)
➡️ Gallstones
➡️ Gallbladder Polyps
➡️ Cholecystitis (Gallbladder inflammation)
➡️ Choledocholithiasis (A stone within the Bile Duct)
➡️ Hepatic Steatosis (Fatty Liver Disease)
➡️ Splenomegaly (Enlargement of Spleen)
➡️ Ascites (Free Fluid)
➡️ Focal tumours/lesions (These can be found across any solid abdominal organ).
Any pathology or significant finding from our ultrasound scans are discussed clearly with you and a report is provided immediately. This report will also be forwarded to your GP or relevant Health Care Practitioner for actioning if required 🏥 .
