GWETA PRIMARY HOSPITAL JOINS COMMUNITY SPIRITUAL LEADERS IN NATIONAL MONTH OF PRAYER

Gweta Primary Hospital staff joined hands with community spiritual leaders on Wednesday, 9 September 2026, in observance of the National Month of Prayer, held under the theme โ€œLet There Be Life.โ€

The prayer gathering brought together healthcare workers and spiritual leaders in a collective call for hope, healing and the protection of lives within the community. Prayers were offered against communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases, mental health illnesses and road and other accidents, while encouraging the community to embrace healthier and safer ways of living.

The partnership between Gweta Primary Hospital and community spiritual leaders highlights the importance of working together in promoting the wellbeing of the community. Through faith, health education and collective action, the initiative seeks to strengthen the communityโ€™s commitment to preserving and improving lives.

Under the theme โ€œLet There Be Life,โ€ the gathering served as a reminder that protecting life is a shared responsibility that requires the combined efforts of healthcare workers, spiritual leaders and the wider community.

NEWLY REGISTERED NURSES & TEMPORARY MIDWIVES ORIENTATION

Gweta Primary Hospital welcomed six newly registered nurses and four temporary employee midwives.

Conducted orientation and induction session aimed at ensuring a smooth transition into service and strengthening their understanding of professional responsibilities. The session provided an overview of the Public Service Code of Conduct, job expectations, channels of communication, dress code, disciplinary procedures, leave schedules, referrals, overtime, professional growth, renewal of practising licences, and relevant Acts, policies and procedures. The orientation reinforces the hospitalโ€™s commitment to promoting professionalism, accountability, effective communication and quality patient-centred care.
