A huge opportunity for collaboration!

NOW OPEN: Call for Proposals: Grants for Creative and Artistic Practitioners

The Africa-Europe Partnerships for Culture: Southern Africa component invites artists and creatives to engage with heritage narratives from six Southern African countries, collaboratively reimagining them through a contemporary creative lens.

Selected practitioners will receive a €6,000 grant and participate in a six-month heritage narrative development process phase led by heritage organisations, culminating in three co-produced creative works.

Who can apply? Artists and creatives who:

Are 18 years or older.
Have at least 3 years of professional artistic or creative practice.
Are resident in Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa or Zimbabwe.

Deadline: 5 October 2026

The Africa-Europe Partnerships for Culture: Southern Africa component is hosting an online application workshop to support artists and creative practitioners interested in applying for the Grants for Creative and Artistic Practitioners currently available.

The workshop will provide in-depth information on how to apply for the grant, covering eligibility criteria, and how to use the Goethe Application portal (GAP).
