With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and Matriarch, Frances Emolyn Del Valle (née Wright), who departed on February 11, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born on June 27, 1942, in Belize City to Edison Wright and Gladys Bellezaire, Frances lived a life of love, faith, and resilience. She mastered shorthand and typing, later serving as Premier George Price’s personal secretary, where she met the love of her life, Jesus Leonel Del Valle. Together, they built a legacy of family and entrepreneurship, founding Caladium Restaurant, one of Belmopan’s pioneering establishments. After Leonel’s passing in 1992, Frances courageously led the business while raising their children.
A woman of deep faith, Frances was devoted to her Catholic beliefs and cherished her family above all.
She was predeceased by her husband Jesus Leonel Del Valle, parents Edison and Gladys Wright, sister Prudence Robbins, and brother Omar Wright.
She is survived by her loving children: Selina Del Valle, Tricia Del Valle Brown, and Giovanni Del Valle, cherished grandchildren: Leonel Del Valle, Joneli Pinelo, Sabrina Brown, Mia Pinelo, Aiden Pinelo, Sophia Brown, Javier Brown, and Francesca Del Valle, and great-grandchildren Maiya Manzanero and Messiah Del Valle. Also mourning her loss are her son-in-law, Javier Brown, and siblings: Agnes Black, Maureen Rodas, Corneli Miller, Jerome Wright, and Clifford Wright, along with nieces and nephews.
Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved.
