The truth is, writing the ABORM exam wasn’t a well thought out decision. I didn’t take months to reflect and prepare for it…..
It was unexpected, impulsive, I found myself on the exam application website, asking them to consider me even though the deadline had passed.
But just like that, when things are meant to line up for you, everything fell into place. I had a few weeks, a pile of textbooks, and with any spare moment I could find, I started to study.
And life definitely didn’t slow down to make room for it. Things came up, the kind of things that could’ve knocked me off course. But I kept going. I asked for support, I meditated, I rested, and I let my community show up for me along the way.
Somewhere in the cramming and the chaos, I kept coming back to my why.
This exam was never just about a title, it was about strengthening everything I know, building a stronger foundation, and creating an identity that’s recognizable in the work I do.
Sometimes the most beautiful things come at you unexpectedly, but that’s when you need to learn to trust in the life you’re building and the purpose you’re committing to. 🤍
