As you prepare for the year ahead, consider adding an eye exam to your family’s back-to-school routine. Our team is pleased to offer convenient online booking for eye exams.

Children under 19 are covered by Alberta Health Care for annual eye exams, with no additional fees.

We are excited to welcome Dr Riley Thorpe to the Airdrie and Innisfail Eyecare team!

Dr Riley Thorpe is originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in West Kelowna, British Columbia. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology at the University of British Columbia before earning his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo, graduating with Dean’s Honours.

Dr Thorpe completed his clinical externships in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Saint John, New Brunswick, where he gained experience in dry eye management and comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages. 

Having previously played junior hockey in Calgary, Dr Thorpe has enjoyed making Southern Alberta home and is excited to continue serving the community as part of the teams at Airdrie and Innisfail Eyecare Centres. 

Outside of optometry, Dr Thorpe enjoys exploring local restaurants, spending time with family, and cheering on his favourite sports teams.
