HPCN encompasses fourteen clinics, over forty-one member physicians and serves over fifty thousand patients. Primary Care (PC) is the first point of contact within the health care system that is provided by family physicians and Prima

ry Care Network’s (PCN) interprofessional team; nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, social workers and behavioural health consultants. The interprofessional team works closely with physicians resulting in better collaboration, timely referrals and comprehensive patient care.

Laces for Learning is a partnership between Community Links and the Kiwanis Club of Airdrie Foothills that helps ensure school-aged children and youth have appropriate footwear to participate safely and confidently in physical education classes.

The program provides access to proper athletic shoes for families experiencing financial barriers. This is a walk-in service, and Community Links’ Information and Referral staff will complete a brief eligibility screening to determine whether applicants qualify for the program.

Hot weather can quickly become dangerous if you don't recognize the signs of heat-related illness. Do you know the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke?

Heat exhaustion may cause:
πŸ’§ Heavy sweating
πŸ˜“ Dizziness or weakness
🀒 Nausea
πŸ₯΅ Cool, clammy skin

Move to a cool place, drink water and rest.
Heat stroke is a medical emergency. Call 911 if someone has:
🚨 A body temperature above 40°C
🚨 Confusion, slurred speech, or loss of consciousness
🚨 Hot, red skin

If you have questions about staying healthy during the summer months or managing health conditions that may increase your risk during extreme heat, talk to your primary care provider.

🌿 Enjoying Alberta's trails, parks and backyards this summer? Make tick checks part of your outdoor routine.

Ticks can be found in grassy and wooded areas and some can carry diseases that may cause illness. After spending time outdoors, take a few minutes to check your skin, clothing and pets for ticks.

Watch for symptoms such as a rash, fever, fatigue or muscle aches and seek medical advice if they develop.

πŸ“ Have questions about a tick bite? Contact your primary care provider for guidance

Our PCN team includes nurses, social workers, pharmacists, dietitians and other health professionals who can support your health needs. Most services do not require a referral. Visit https://hpcn.ca to learn more.
