What do we do during slower days at the clinic? 🐌

Clean, fold towels, fill the hydroculator…and maybe there is some goofing around - but only for encouragement training…we promise!! 😆

🦖 Muscle or Dinosaur? 💪🤔

Think you know your anatomy? Test yourself! Which of these are muscles, and which are dinosaurs? 👇

🔹 Iliocostalis
🔹 Anconeus
🔹 Platysma
🔹 Sartorius
🔹 Achillobator
🔹 Sauropelta
🔹 Concavenator
🔹 Ichthyovenator
🔹 Brontomerus
🔹 Pterygoidia

Watch to Reveal the Answers!

🦴 The muscles:

💪 Iliocostalis – A muscle running up the spine.
💪 Anconeus – A small muscle at the back of the elbow.
💪 Platysma – A thin sheet of muscle covering the front of the neck.
💪 Sartorius – The longest muscle in the human body, running down the thigh.

🦖 The dinosaurs:

🦕 Achillobator – Named after the Achilles tendon because of the large muscle attachment sites on its massive hind claws.
🦕 Sauropelta – Sounds like a pelvic or psoas muscle, but it's actually a heavily armored ankylosaur.
🦕 Concavenator – A theropod with a distinctive hump whose name is often mistaken for a back or shoulder muscle.🦕 Ichthyovenator – Despite sounding anatomical, this is actually a sail-backed spinosaurid.
🦕 Brontomerus – Its name translates to "thunder thighs" thanks to its remarkably powerful leg muscles.
🦕 Pterygoidia – Despite sounding like the pterygoid muscles of the jaw, Pterygoidia is actually an extinct genus of pterosaur.

World Hypertension Day 🫀

High blood pressure (hypertension) affects over 1.5 billion people worldwide but many don’t know they have it. It can develop without symptoms while increasing the risk of heart disease and stroke.

The good news? It’s treatable and often preventable 👏

One of the most powerful tools we have is exercise! Regular physical activity can help lower blood pressure, improve heart health, and reduce overall cardiovascular risk.

Simple ways to get started:
🚶‍♂️ Brisk walking, cycling, or swimming
🏋️‍♀️ Strength/resistance training a few times per week
⚽ Recreational sports or group activities
🧘 Even short, consistent movement throughout the day (like stretching) sets the foundation for healthy movement habits!

Other key habits include:
✔️ Monitoring your blood pressure
✔️ Reducing sodium intake
✔️ Managing stress and sleep
✔️ Following medical advice when needed

Move more this long weekend to take control of your heart health! 🤸
