-101.7 CKDH have been kind enough to join us in helping make this year our best yet! Not only are they bringing treats for the kids... Parents, make sure you take the time to stop and fill out a ballot for your chance to win a $250 gas gift card!⛽💸 🤩

Your child is starting school? Start with an eye exam! 👀🎒

From looking at the board to exploring books and joining classroom activities, vision plays an important role in learning. Children may not realize or know how to explain that they’re having trouble seeing.

An eye exam with an optometrist checks their vision and eye health, helping identify concerns as they begin this exciting new chapter 💚

Eye See… Eye Learn! provides a free pair of glasses, if needed, for eligible children who:

✅ Live in Nova Scotia
✅ Have a valid MSI card
✅ Are in pre-primary or primary

MSI covers eye exams for children under 10 every two years, or more often if medically necessary.

Make an eye exam part of your back-to-school checklist! Find a participating optometrist at healthyvisionhealthykids.com 🐸

BACK TO SCHOOL IS AROUND THE CORNER!

Did you know that 80% of your child’s learning is done through what they see?

We are lucky enough to have Dr Kelli McInnis with us for the summer and she has some availability in her schedule in August.

If you’re looking to get your kiddo’s eyes checked before they start school this year call us and we will book them in!

Eye exams for kids under the age of 10 are covered under MSI (Nova Scotia residents) and if your child is going into pre-primary or primary they may also be eligible for the Eye See Eye Learn Program in partnership with the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists!

Hate has no space in our community

The Town of Amherst is committed to fostering a community built on respect, inclusion, and compassion.

Hate, discrimination, and personal attacks of any kind have no place in our community. Words and actions rooted in intolerance cause harm not only to individuals, but to the sense of safety, belonging, and connection that strengthens our town.

Amherst is strongest when people feel welcomed, supported, and treated with dignity. We encourage kindness, empathy, and respect for all.

Together, we can continue building a community where everyone belongs.
