Midwives of York Region MYR is a midwifery clinic that serves the York Region community. With privileges at Southlake Health. We are a practice of ten Registered Midwives.

We offer a choice of birthplace: home or hospital. We hold admitting and discharge privileges at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket. We work in teams to offer 24-hour oncall availability. Our office is located in Aurora.

Today we celebrate the babies who we never got to meet.
The babies who we got to hold, though never having drawn a breath.
The babies and children who we got to love and cherish for too short a time.

We celebrate them, and we hold their families in our hearts.

Tonight we light a candle in their honor. 💜

Established to honour Residential School Survivors, their families, and those who never returned home, it serves as a powerful reminder of the lasting impacts of the Residential School system.

Today, we don’t just wear orange shirts. Today we look back and reflect on the actions that caused harm to past and present generations of Indigenous families.

We reach for ways to mend broken relationships and we take it upon ourselves to learn about the diverse cultures, voices, experiences and stories of the Indigenous Peoples who inhabit Turtle Island.
