I had the pleasure of hosting some folks from the Nova Scotia Teachers Union this Wednesday Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens. It was HOT, but thanks to the shade of a beautiful oak and the stone archway entrance, we had a lovely time.
Some plants we shared time with: partridgeberry, blue vervain, blueberry, goldenrod, Queen Anne's lace, yarrow, plantain and marshmallow.
There's one more opportunity to join me in the gardens this August and it's coming up on Sunday, from 10 am-1:30pm. We will walk the grounds of the gardens, meeting a few of the abundant plant species there, break for a local and herbal inspired snack, and complete our time creating herbal oxymels under the beautiful oak shade next to the medicinal gardens.
