We are astounded. Participants in this years' Race Around the Cabot Trail crushed the goal of 298 and walked a total of 918 km (based on 1400 steps/km) over 5 weeks!!!! With that effort, a celebration was definitely in order. Never underestimate what you can accomplish! Thanks to the Municipality of the County of Victoria, Nova Scotia Recreation Loan Program for the pedometers to support participants track steps.

We know so many of you exemplify this year's theme "Connected Moments". We encourage you to celebrate yourself, your friends, your fellow community members by submitting photos to this year's edition of New Lens on Aging! Check out their website for more information.

A New Lens on Aging is a photo campaign designed to reduce the stigma around aging and change how people think about getting older. We look for photo submissions from older adults and organizations that support older adults, that highlight aging well in communities across Nova Scotia.

It's always nice to have visitors! Phyllis MacLellan with Aging Well Nova Scotia is a familiar face to many and she even brought treats to enjoy. Phyllis brought great discussion on ageism, intergenerational activities and how much we can contribute back to community, no matter our age! https://www.agingwellns.ca/

We are so excited to be kicking off our FREE Farm Fresh Food Box program!

With funding from the Department of Culture, Communities, Heritage and Tourism, we are helping to support local Farmers right here on Cape Breton Island.

This session will consist of four 4-week cycles and provide fresh local produce from local Cape Breton Farms, with customers receiving seasonally available produce once a week at select pick up locations (no delivery available).

These Farm Fresh Food Boxes will contain a selection of seasonally fresh produce, that is selected by the Hub staff and producers.

There will be 35 households selected per 4-week cycle.

**This program is open to everyone in Cape Breton regardless of income or background.**

Households selected will be contacted by the Hub staff, and will only be selected from this forms responses.
