This posture helps to strengthen your shoulders, arms, legs, ankles and knee joints. It stretches your outer hips, hamstrings,and lower back while reducing tension and pain in your lower back
It increases the blood flow to your grown area and helps to stimulate your internal organs
Eve has been practicing and teaching yoga for many years and has been practicing with me 2 days a week for almost a year now. Kelly is one of the most thoughtful, considerate and generous souls that I’ve ever had the pleasure to coach and get to know.
Kelly has been attending Group Training with me since October 2025, her improved lifts and increased strength have been very exciting to witness. Every …single….class, she shows up for herself, smiling, caring to perfect her form and never, ever quits. Her thoughtful and encouraging nature shines through in her interactions with the others, always taking the time to encourage and cheer on her fellow lift mates. This is Jenna in Eka Pada Rajakapotasana, also known as Pigeon Pose! This a fantastic, advanced stretch for hips and should be performed with caution.
Jenna and I met at Tree of Life Yoga studio in Bancroft July, 2024 just after it opened. Prior to joining the studio, Jenna had only attended a yoga class once before in college.
In my 12 years of teaching, I’d have to say Jenna is a fast learner and I attribute that to her self trust and the relationship that she has with her own body.

What I love about Jenna the most is her welcoming, thoughtful, caring and enthusiastic energy that that she brings to every class. She is not afraid to challenge herself, to try new postures, even if it means she doesn’t succeed on her first try. She has a home self-practice as well where she revisits postures that she learns in class.

Jenna practices yoga without ego, and this is super important for all yogis. It allows for transcended self-centered thoughts, while fostering a deeper connection with one’s practice and the community around them. I’m super proud of Jenna, her progress on the mat and the model yogi she has become. It’s a pleasure to have you in class Jenna! ❤️🧘‍♀️

This is Sarah in Kurmasana, also known as pancake pose.

She has been practicing yoga consistently, and attending my classes and others in the Bancroft area for over 3 years. She is eager and enthusiastic when trying new postures or arm balances and brings her sense of humour to every class.
If you are practicing along side her, she will inspire you, encourage you and happily cheer you on.

Is Kurmasana pose accessible for everyone? Maybe not, but its in the “effort” that we grow. If we want to improve and benefit from our yoga practice, whether it be physical or meditative, frequency and persistence are key. Discipline (tapas), showing up regularly, repeating the same move, the same task, the same mental exercise again and again is why Sarah has such a strong yoga practice.

Discovering and having a deeper relationship with ourselves is the only way to understand where our strengths and weaknesses are, what we need more or less of in our lives.

Sarah, it’s an absolute pleasure having you in my classes, sharing laughs and watching you grow into the beautiful yogi you are. Keep inspiring us Sarah Dillabough

Sandi helps you perform passive stretches and yoga poses to promote well-being by using her body to assist and guide you throughout. She may use her hands, elbows, forearms and feet to help reduce tension in your muscles.

During a session, Sandi focuses on clearing sens, which according to traditional Thai massage means internal energy pathways, through movements and stretches. The goal is to move your internal energy throughout your organs and body systems to achieve wellness. You will also receive loving kindness, or metta, during your session. ❤️

Is Thai massage covered under benefits? Not usually but neither are your car services. Cars can be replaced but your body and wellbeing cannot. Investing in your health will give you so much back in return!
